I have always worked with children and young people and after qualifying as a secondary school Geography teacher I worked in maintained secondary schools in Sussex. I was particularly interested in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve in the mainstream classroom, through delivering an accessible curriculum, building confidence and celebrating a diversity of learning styles.

I then worked with children in the early years for three years. This gave me an invaluable insight into the influence of experiential learning and early communication skills on language development and future learning potential. I moved into the field of special educational needs and have completed two postgraduate qualifications in SEN working as a specialist SEN teacher and SENCo.
